-
- A primer on HD terminology:
-
- Fast SCSI2 is a different(and more expensive) drive interface. Its main
- advantages are that access and transfer to/from these drives is less
- taxing on your CPU.
-
- AV, which, as everywhere else, means Audio/Visual(or is it Video here?), is
- a solution to one of the biggest problems with multimedia installations. This
- problem is, of course, the bottleneck resulting from low or unsteady
- throughput. AV drives can pump a steady, high volume of data into your
- system. This is also more expensive than your ~5000 RPM $300 IDE drive.
-
- His price is quite in line with current levels for equivalent devices.
