  22. Fast SCSI2 is a different(and more expensive) drive interface.  Its main 
  23. advantages are that access and transfer to/from these drives is less 
  24. taxing on your CPU.

  26. AV, which, as everywhere else, means Audio/Visual(or is it Video here?), is
  27. a solution to one of the biggest problems with multimedia installations.  This
  28. problem is, of course, the bottleneck resulting from low or unsteady
  29. throughput.  AV drives can pump a steady, high volume of data into your
  30. system.  This is also more expensive than your ~5000 RPM $300 IDE drive.
